Meet Nick C. (10 years old) and Nora Sue (9 years old)! These sweet angels are the newest additions to our sanctuary family. We were lucky to partner with Wabash County Animal Shelter, Inc. Wabash, Indiana again and give these 2 a new leash on life!
Their previous owner passed away and the family surrendered them to the shelter. Nick and Nora were at the shelter since the end of December with no interest from the general public. Nick seems to be going blind (his eyes are very cloudy) and he uses Nora to help guide him. They are both very sweet, are loving lap time/snuggles and are acclimating well with Buddy, Lucy and Pork Chop. There are a few grumbles here and there but nothing major. Even Bill has been hanging out with/near them already.
Nora’s face is healing from self inflicted puncture wounds. The shelter staff believe she tried to put her face in one of their fences. Their team did an excellent job taking care of her with several visits to their vet. She had stitches and drains in her face and was on several rounds of antibiotics. It’s definitely something we will be keeping a close eye on and getting her to see Dr. Watkins at VCA Companion Animal Medical Center to have it rechecked.
We absolutely love our friends at the shelter. They are all wonderful, kind people and do amazing work!
