June is Pride month! Serenity Senior Living Pet Sanctuary believes in love, unity and equality for all. Serenity supports the LGBTQ+ community with a booth at Pet Pride every year!
This year we want to continue the fun and invite everyone to come to our first annual “Paint Your Pet’s Pride” party on Saturday, June 22nd, from 5pm to 9pm at @centerpointbrewing.
This is a fun, pet friendly event to explore your creativity while painting your favorite pet’s portrait in their favorite Pride outfit! Angie, AKA @theartsyalchemist, will provide all the necessary supplies, will walk you through the process, step by step, so no experience is necessary.

Sunday Funday! Join us and support our senior dogs and cats while painting and enjoying craft beer. Bier Brewery, a family owned local brewery, has graciously agreed to host this event on February 5th at their 65th Street location.
This is a fun, pet friendly event to explore your creativity while painting your favorite pet or person’s portrait. Or, you may use any picture of your favorite Serenity pet from our FB page or website. And, it’s just in time for Valentine’s Day!
A local artist, Zach Lowe, has chosen to support Serenity by organizing this event. On the day of the event, Zach will provide a canvas with your sketch, and all supplies. He will guide you every step of the way in bringing your favorite pet or person to life! He is generously donating $25 per ticket directly to Serenity.

- 13 to the Rescue
Peanut is playing her bone like a trumpet because she has very exciting news!!!!! Serenity is going to be featured on the “13 To The Rescue” segment on WTHR Channel 13 news!!!
Julia Moffitt and Bill, her cameraman, came out to our foster home on 09/15 to film. You never know how a celebrity is going to be meeting her in person. Julia was genuinely sweet, kind, patient, caring and it’s obvious that she loves animals. Bill was amazing as well. We are so thankful and blessed to have been given this opportunity. The piece will air on Tuesday, September 20th, during the sunrise, noon and evening news and then throughout the week. And as you can see, Pork Chop is exhausted from the unexpected rise to stardom!!!!!
- Pet Pride 2022
Our first Pet Pride on Saturday was a huge success! It is the most fun pet event to be a part of and it was our honor to support such a great group of people. The weather was perfect. We had such a great time!
We met so many nice people and their pets. We made contact with 2 other great rescues and several wonderful vendors. We received some cash donations. Thank you!
We believe everything happens for a reason and the most wonderful thing happened. We met Melisa and her mother Lori. They fell in love with Mia’s picture and Lori adopted her the very next day!!! We never imagined something like that would come out of us being at this wonderful event. Mia has the perfect forever home and we are so grateful!!!!
We can’t wait for next year! Well done, Pet Pride, well done!!!
