Pets, especially service and companion animals, significantly help veterans by reducing PTSD/anxiety, combating loneliness, boosting physical and/or mental well-being, and providing a renewed sense of purpose through unconditional love. This relationship lowers stress hormones, encourages activity, rebuilds trust, and offers a grounding, non-judgmental presence for emotional healing.
Our senior dogs and cats need extra love and attention as they age. They have also been through challenges in their lives, as they may have been through shelters and have experienced the loss of their owners.
A veteran may foster, adopt or simply enjoy a scheduled visit with a senior cat or dog. Serenity is passionately committed to bringing the love between a veteran and a senior pet to live their “Best Life” together.
